Charles Darwin Station

Day 1: QUITO/GUAYAQUIL - SANTA CRUZ ISLAND

Transfer from your hotel in Quito or Guayaquil to airport to take your flight to Galapagos Islands. Arrive at Baltra airport where your guide will be waiting for you and transfer you to your hotel.  

On our way to Puerto Ayora we will have an interesting visit to Highlands of Santa Cruz where you can admire the Giant Tortoises that live inside this natural reserve.

Arrive to Puerto Ayora: Check In. Free afternoon or we can do an optional visit to Playa de los Alemanes and "Las Grietas". Back to hotel. Dinner and overnight.  

Day 2: PUERTO AYORA: CHARLES DARWIN STATION - ISABELA ISLAND

Breakfast. Visit Charles Darwin Station, just a 10 minute walk from the center of town. The Charles Darwin Station, established in 1964, has a Natural History Interpretation Centre which carries out educational projects in support of conservation of the islands. The Charles Darwin Station has carried out research for the conservation of the Galapagos ecosystem for almost 50 years; here you will have the opportunity to see the giant Galapagos tortoises.

Departure to Isabela Island by speed boat. Arrive in the afternoon and transfer to Hotel. Box Lunch. Overnight on Isabela. Optional night walking.

Day 3: VOLCAN SIERRA NEGRA FULL DAY EXCURSION

Breakfast. We will ride the bus which takes us up to the highlands of Isabela and from this point we have the option to horseback or hike toward "Sierra Negra Volcano" (Hiking: 3 hours). Box Lunch in the area.

Sierra Negra's caldera has a diameter of 9-10 km; it is the largest in the Galapagos and the second largest in the world.

Return to Puerto Villamil around 4:00PM. Free afternoon to relax or enjoy the beach.

Day 4: ISABELA ISLAND

Breakfast. During this morning we visit Tintoreras which is located a short distance from Puerto Villamil. It is the small island known as 'Las Tintoreras'. This place is famous because there is a big colony of penguins recently established in Puerto Villamil, you can find Blue Footed Boobies too. Besides you can discover white tip sharks in this place. Back to Puerto Villamil for lunch at hotel or local restaurant. In the afternoon we have an attractive tour to Poza de Flamingoes and Wall of Tears. Back to Hotel

Day 5: ISABELA - SANTA CRUZ ISLAND

Breakfast. Departure to Santa Cruz Island by speed boat. Arrive to Puerto Ayora.  Visit a wonderful beach called: Tortuga Bay.  One hour walk (5 km) west from Puerto Ayora on a marked and cobbled path. During this visit it is easy to see several species of finches. The white sand beach is considered by many the nicest of the islands. Around this place we can see small colonies of marine iguanas. Afternoon: enjoy the beach. Back to hotel.

Day 6: TRANSFER OUT: SANTA CRUZ - QUITO / GUAYAQUIL

Breakfast. Transfer out to Baltra's airport in order to get your flight back to Quito or Guayaquil. Transfer to your hotel. End of services.
