Las Peñas Neighbourhood - Guayaquil

DAY 13 CUENCA - GUAYAQUIL CITY Transfer from the city of Cuenca to Molleturo, Puerto Inca and Guayaquil. This trip is equally spectacular as you twist down along the flanks of the Andes to the humid coastal plain below.
Guayaquil, the main port of the country, offers an interesting variety of tourist attractions such as Malecon 2000, the charming colonial section of Las Peñas and the Santa Ana Fort. The Iguanas park, La Rotonda monument, Santo Domingo church and Malecón Del Salado. Lodging in Guayaquil.
DAY 14 GUAYAQUIL - PUERTO LOPEZ Depart to Santa Elena through the Sun's Route, (approximately 100 km). Along this route, we will find beautiful coastal villages such as Punta Blanca, San Pablo, Valdivia, Manglaralto, Montañita, Olon, and finally Puerto Lopez on the Manabi coast.
Manabí's biggest tourist attractions are the 50-ton humpback whales that come to the warm Ecuadorian waters every year from June to September. Lodging in Puerto Lopez.
Frigate Birds - Silver Island
DAY 15 ISLA DE LA PLATA Depart to La Plata Island (Silver Island) by motor boat from Puerto Lopez (approximately 2 hours) on the way we will have the opportunity to observe the humpback whales.
Arrive to the Island and we will hike for four hours (Punta Escaleras path) to see blue footed and masked booby colonies, frigates, cucubes, paradise bird, albatrosses and many others species. Snorkeling at Drake Bay. 16:00 hours, back trip to Puerto Lopez.
Redfoot Booby Silver Island
DAY 16 MACHALILLA NATIONAL PARK Visit Machalilla National Park where we have a one hour hike to visit La Playita, Tortugita and the beautiful Frailes Beaches, which are quiet, desolate and undisturbed. Free morning on the beach.
Afternoon: Aguas Blanca Community, in situ museum and Aguas Negras medicinal and thermal springs. Return to and lodge in Puerto Lopez.
DAY 17 PACIFIC COAST TOWNS Depart to Puerto Cayo - Jipijapa are very famous for their handicrafts such as Panama Hats. Visit La Pile, a local community where you will find several types of ceramics that represent ancestral cultures of the Ecuadorian Coast; Bahia de Caráquez and San Vicente. Lodging in a little coast village of Canoa in front of the sea.
Punta Prieta Beach
DAY 18 PUNTA PRIETA Early in the morning, we will visit Jama and the beautiful and exotic beaches of Don Juan and Punta Prieta. The Archaeological Park of Jama Coaque (Ceremonial Center of the Jama Coaque Culture 600 a C - 400 d C). Waterfalls are surrounded by exuberant vegetation and experience their local food, combining meat, chicken and seafood. All of which are tasty, varied and a true delight for the palate. These are the main attractions of this zone. Free morning on the beach. Lodging in a Typical Hostel in Don Juan.
Mindo Cloud Forest
DAY 19 SANTO DOMINGO DE LOS COLORADOS - MINDO CLOUD FOREST Depart to Pedernales, Santo Domingo de los Colorados (famous for the ancestral culture of Tsatchilas, also called the Colorados, who maintain their original language "Safique", dress and artistic expressions). Visit "La Perla" Forest and continue our trip to Puerto Quito and Mindo. Lodging in Mindo.
DAY 20 MINDO CLOUD FOREST - QUITO Very early in the morning (approximately 05:00 am) we are going to observe exotic varieties of tropical birds, such as the Cock of the Rock, an abundance of hummingbirds, Toucans, Tanagers, Manakins, woodpeckers, Headed Tanager, Velvet Purrle, Golden Headed Quetzals, and many others species. Return to Quito.
